NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE Re-ac-tor LP
Re-ac-tor (1981), Neil Young's second effort of the '80s, finds him backed by the mighty Crazy Horse and while the emphasis is on guitar as is the hallmark of all their recordings together, he also incorporates synths and new wave elements for the first time here which would come to full fruition on the polarizing Trans the following year. Still the finest moments are the most traditional such as "Surfer Joe and Moe the Sleaze," "Southern Pacific" and epic closer, "Shots," the latter recalling some of the pairing's most explosive work of the '70s.
